چکیده

This paper designs a novel human face recognition method, which is mainly based on a new feature extraction method and an efficient classifier – random weight network (RWN). Its innovation of the feature extraction is embodied in the good fusion of the geometric features and algebraic features of the original image. Here the geometric features are acquired by means of fast discrete curvelet transform (FDCT) and 2-dimensional principal component analysis (2DPCA), while the algebraic features are extracted by a proposed quasi-singular value decomposition (Q-SVD) method that can embody the relations of each image under a unified framework. Subsequently, the efficient RWN is applied to classify these fused features to further improve the recognition rate and the recognition speed. Some comparison experiments are carried out on six famous face databases between our proposed method and some other state-of-the-art methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method has an outstanding superiority in the aspects of separability, recognition rate and training time. & 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Disguised Face Recognition by Using Local Phase Quantization and Singular Value Decomposition

Disguised face recognition is a major challenge in the field of face recognition which has been taken less attention. Therefore, in this paper a disguised face recognition algorithm based on Local Phase Quantization (LPQ) method and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is presented which deals with two main challenges. The first challenge is when an individual intentionally alters the appearance ...

A New Fast and Efficient HMM-Based Face Recognition System Using a 7-State HMM Along With SVD Coefficients

In this paper, a new Hidden Markov Model (HMM)-based face recognition system is proposed. As a novel point despite of five-state HMM used in pervious researches, we used 7-state HMM to cover more details. Indeed we add two new face regions, eyebrows and chin, to the model. As another novel point, we used a small number of quantized Singular Values Decomposition (SVD) coefficients as feature...

3DLBP and SVD Fusion for 3D Face Recognition Using Range Image

In this paper, we present a novel approach for fusing 3D Local Binary Pattrns (3DLBP) and singular Value Decomposition (SVD) for face recognition when ”Kinect” is used as the 3D face scanner. Another approach is used to compare the 3DLBP method, fused with SVD, with other methods proposed in the literature for face recognition by using Kinect. Experimental results on FRGC 2.0 face dataset showe...
